AI based images are a great way to create some conceptual images in this case of interior design of homes, apartments, resorts etc. It can be used to inspire interior design or simply these images can be used as stock images for magazines, blog posts and content creators.
The results are amazing with Midjourney and I used the technique discussed in Create Multiple Prompts in Midjourney post to generate consistent images below. However its not necessary that you can use the permutations method but it certainly makes the process easier.
This post has been inspired by Linus who posted this tweet on Twitter which helped me create the post. The prompt has been taken from his tweet and modified to create the below
Prompt Engineering
Objective is to create photographic images of apartment and we will define the various elements in the prompt. For example:
- Building: The style of the place you are after in the image, home, apartment etc. Check out this post for more ideas
- Era: The time of the design which will inspire the image
- Finishing: the kind of material you want to have been used in the apartment
- Lighting: what kind of light should influence the image or time of day when the image was captured
- Modifiers: additional modifier words that will add details to the image. eg. hyperdetailed, realistic, intricate, details etc.

In this prompt you simply replace the room name with things like, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room etc.
If you use the method above that let’s you permutations method you’d use the prompt in the fashion of describing all the rooms in one prompt inside curly brackets and separated by commas {bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, child’s room, hallway, balcony, powder room}.
You describe the kind of attributes it should have such as Concrete, Steel, Wood etc. The era of the apartment in this case mid-century modern (check out this post for more ideas).
Midjourney parameters –q define the quality of the image it produces, I used 2 in this case. –ar defines the aspect ratio of the image which is 3×2 in our case. Finally –v defines the version of the Midjourney model you want to use, you want to use 4 and above to get nice realistic results.
Apartment Images
So finally we get these gorgeous images generated by Midjourney covering different parts of our apartment. The prompts used are provided in the caption of each image.
Not much to say, I think the images speak for themselves and they are certainly good enough and look consistent enough to use in a blog post or content creation. I’m not an architect but certainly can take these as inspiration to design my future home.
